Miami Intermodel Center (MIC)

MIC TRI-RAIL RELOCATION/TEMPORARY STATION DESIGN-BUILD E-6E73 / RFP-DOT-07/08-6093DS . The Florida Department of Transportation has issued this Request for Proposal (RFP) in accordance with 337.11, F.S., to solicit competitive bids and proposals from qualified vendors to provide a Tri-Rail Station North of NW 25th Street in Miami-Dade County. . The Department intends to construct a new temporary station complete with parking lot and access roads approximately one-quarter mile North of the existing Miami Airport Station for use by Tri-Rail during the construction of a new permanent station near the site of the existing station. .
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: This project will consist of: - Completion of design provided for the Parking Lot at the Temporary Station, complete with curb and gutter, paving, pavement marking and signage, drainage, lighting, canopies and landscaping and construction of designed facilities. - Completion of design provided for the Temporary Station platform complete with concrete, canopy ramps, handrails, signage, electrical, lighting and construction of designed facilities. - Relocation of listed fixtures from the existing Tri-Rail Station North of NW 21st Street to the Temporary Station and reinstallation. - Furnish and install temporary facilities (trailers) at the Temporary Station as shown on the drawings and specification provided. The temporary facilities must be initially erected and made operational at the Tri-Rail Hialeah Market Station to enable Tri-Rail to shift operations and decommission the Station and tracks North of NW 21st Street. Upon completion of the Temporary Station, the temporary facilities will be relocated to the Temporary Station. - Complete design for the modification of trackwork and signals associated with the Temporary Station and relocation / reconstruction of said trackwork and signals. - Coordinate and cooperate with the CSX railroad for the modification to the signaling system under separate contract with FDOT. - Stockpile surplus track materials on the jobsite as directed by the engineer. .
RESPONSE PROCEDURE: Firms interested in being con- sidered for this project should submit no more than a request for the project package (Request for Proposal) in writing no later than 5:00 PM, EST, February 8, 2008, to d6.contracts@dot.state.fl.us. It is anticipated that the project package will be available February 13, 2008.

The Response deadline has been extended to 5:00 PM, EST, Friday, February 22, 2008. The tentative date to release the Request for Proposal (RFP) Package is February 29, 2008.
