Amtrak is a national heavy-rail transportation system. The Amtrak rail line spans over 21,000 miles across the United States offering intercity service to 500 destinations. The Silver Meteor operates the New York -Orlando - Miami route. Currently, the Miami Amtrak Station is six miles from Miami International Airport in Northwest Miami-Dade. An extension of the current Amtrak rail line from the Miami Amtrak Station to the Miami Central Station is planned. Photo credit: Amtrak/Alex Mayes.
