Projects: Roadway Improvements
Transit Access Road
The Transit Access Road was built to serve and provide access to a new Florida Power & Light substation. This new road connects NW 25th Street to NW 28th Street along NW 37th Avenue and ultimately with South River Drive. Construction on this roadway began in October 2004 and was open for traffic in January 2006.
The scope of work included the new construction of a 2-lane roadway with concrete curbs and gutters on both sides a 12-foot shared concrete sidewalk and bike path on the east side, and upgrading of the traffic operation characteristics of the existing intersection of NW 37th Avenue and NW 25th Street to include a signalized intersection.
Project Benefits:
- New road extension of NW 37th Avenue up to NW 28th Street serving South River Drive
- Access to the new FP&L substation serving the area
