Every American wants a pickup truck as their dream car. Yes, Lamborghinis and Ferraris are great brands and cars, but there’s something about a pickup truck that gets almost everyone’s blood pumping. You can’t fully understand how great it is to drive a pickup truck until you do it yourself. But you can’t feel that way about every pickup truck. Only the best companies in the business know how to make a good pickup truck, and the numbers show that this is true. So, in this article by Motoring Junction, we’ll look at the most popular pickup trucks in the US and tell you why you should buy one.

Ford F-series

Ford F-series

Since 1948, Ford has been making cars in the F series. Some families have had it for so long that it can be called a family truck. The F series is a type of truck that now comes in many different models and variations. When it first came out, it was a light duty truck that was sold as a full-size pickup truck. Check out this list of 9 electric trucks that will change the market.

Since 1977, it has been one of the best-selling pickup trucks in the United States, and in 1981, it was the best-selling car overall. The F-series is also Canada’s best-selling car line. The 2018 model of the F-series made $41 billion in sales that year and is definitely one of the best, if not the best, on the market.

Ram Trucks

This is a full-size pickup truck made by the FCA US LLC, which used to be called the Chrysler Group LLC and has been in business since 2010. It is sold under the brand name RAM trucks. The Ram 1500, which came out in 2018, is the fifth generation of Ram’s pickup truck. The 2020 Ram 1500, which came out two years later, lives up to the hype. It has a 3.6-liter V-6 engine that puts out a jaw-dropping 305 horsepower.

It has been just as well-known as Ford for making light to medium-weight commercial vehicles. It is a part of Fiat Automobiles, an Italian-American company. It’s a great piece of machinery because it comes from a great family of manufacturers.

Chevrolet Silverado

Chevrolet Silverado

Chevrolet makes great sedans, like the famous Camaro (remember Bumblebee from Transformers? ), but it also makes trucks under the General Motors brand, which is a subsidiary of Chevrolet. The model came out in 1999, and it is the next one after the Chevrolet CK line. Chevrolet often uses the Silverado to represent it in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors truck series.

Since 1995, this series has been able to win 8 times. You can guess why, since the 4.6-liter V-6 engine puts out almost 285 horsepower at 3500rpm. The Silverado is its own brand, and it sells very well in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Venezuela, Chile, and many places in the Middle East besides Iran.

GMC Sierra

GMC, which is a division of General Motors LLC and is also known as the General Motors Truck Company, is famous for making trucks and utility vehicles. GMC makes pickup trucks and light-duty trucks for high-end customers most of the time, and the Sierra is no different. Even the base model, which costs just over $53,000 USD, has a 5.3-liter V-8 engine that makes almost 355 horsepower at 5300 rpm.

This one is hard to tame, but GMC makes it easier for its customers by giving it a 10-speed automatic transmission that can be changed. Even though the Blind Spot Warning and Collision Detection systems are only available on the top-of-the-line model, which costs an extra $800, the base model and the mid-range model don’t miss them that much. But if you like to be safe, the extra money is probably worth it.

Toyota Tundra

Toyota Tundra

The Toyota Tundra is probably the oldest truck in its class, but it is still a very powerful hauler that can catch you off guard if you’re not careful. All the models that come under the Tundra are covered by a 381 horsepower V-8 that can easily give you a towing power of 10200 pounds.

At highway speeds, the vehicle might feel clumsy, and the ride might be choppy, but when it’s taken off-road, the ride is just… different. When you drive the car off-road, it’s like it comes to life. When you take the car out into its natural environment, you can see all of its hidden features. Even though some people might think the style is old and the media kit is boring, the crew cab has enough space for you to think about making it your home. Definitely for the nomads who would rather live in the desert than on the road.

Toyota Tacoma

The Tacoma is another great pickup truck that has been around since 1955. It is only made in the United States. The first generation of this series ran from 1995 to 2004, and it created a new type of vehicle called a “compact pickup truck.”

From 2005 to 2015, the second generation kept up the tradition, and since then, the third generation has been doing the same. Due to how popular they are, Tacomas are now also sold in Mexico. The 2020 Tacoma has a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that can make 278 horsepower. This isn’t a crazy amount of power, but nothing comes close to it in terms of driving fun and Japanese engineering.

Ford Ranger

No one needs to be told about the Ford Ranger. In 2020, you can get the legendary machine in three trim levels: XL, XLT, and Lariat. All these models sport a turbocharged 2.3 litre, 4 cylinder engine, with 10-speed automatic transmission.

The Ford name is a big part of the Ranger’s fame, but it’s also known for features like the Sync 3 infotainment system and the 8-inch touch screen that make it easy to use. The most exciting thing about the beast is how comfortable and easy it is to ride. And we all love the front seats that get warm.

Chevrolet Colorado

The Chevrolet Colorado is another beast from the GMC family. It was first made in 2004, and it quickly took the place of the Chevrolet S10 and the GMC S15, which were both small pickup trucks. This machine is often compared to the Ford Ranger, which has the same name but is made by Ford.

The truck has a fully boxed frame, four disc brakes, and Duralife brake rotors, all of which mean that passengers are safer. If you look inside, you’ll see a high-quality cabin with a lot of space. Most of the models come with heated leather seats and a leather steering wheel. The Bose Sound system is an added bonus to the 3.6 litre V-6 powerhouse.

Nissan Frontier

Nissan Frontier

The new Frontier has the same 3.8-liter V6 engine as the one that came before it. This pickup truck’s big engine will make about 310 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque, which is nothing new. What’s new is the automatic transmission with 9 speeds and the option for four-wheel drive.

Compared to the last generation of Frontier, the engine and transmission didn’t perform much better, but the car feels different when you’re driving it. It doesn’t feel at all like its older brother, and that’s a good thing. You should try it if you want to see how much Nissan has changed over the years.

Jeep Gladiator

Like we said about the Tundra, you should probably only think about this pickup truck if you’d rather go off-road than drive in the city. The Gladiator is often called a “Wrangler” by people who know it well. Even though it looks heavy and rough on the outside, the ride is very smooth and you can hardly hear any noise from the outside.

Not only that, but it’s also much cheaper than small pickup trucks like the Ford Ranger, the Toyota Tacoma, and even the Chevrolet Colorado. A turbo diesel engine with 60 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque is also available for the current generation of Jeeps. It’s not much, but it does the job and costs a lot less than a regular truck.
