The Aprilia SR150 Race is the company’s faster scooter. It is owned by the Piaggio Group. The price has stayed the same at 70,282 (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The regular SR150 scooter came out in India less than six months before the SR150 Race. The body colour and graphics of the SR150 Race are based on those of the Aprilia RS-GP. Along with the regular version, the SR 150 Race will be sold in India at both Motoplex and Vespa stores.

Stefano Pelle, Managing Director and CEO of Piaggio Vehicles, said about the new addition, “The great response we got when we introduced the SR 150 in India last year gave us the confidence that the market is now ready for a change. India’s young people are eager to try new things, which is good for a brand like ours, which thrives on building new categories in each market we work in. We hope that the SR 150 Race will bring our customers even closer to the speedy feel they want in their daily rides and once again change the way people in India buy two-wheelers.”

As you can see in the pictures, the new Aprilia SR 150 Race has the racing colours of the company that makes it. The scooter still looks the same, but it now has a grey base colour with red and green stickers on the body, red alloy wheels, and a front brake calliper with a gold finish. The rear shock absorber is red, and the black and red seat from the standard version has been kept. Aprilia said that the suspension springs were changed to make the bike go faster.

The Aprilia SR 150 Race has the same 154.4 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that can make 10.4 bhp at 7000 rpm and 11.5 Nm of torque at 5500 rpm. A CVT automatic transmission is paired with the motor. With a low kerb weight of only 122 kg, it has a good power-to-weight ratio. The front of the SR 150 has telescopic forks, and the back has two shock absorbers. The front brake is a disc brake, and the back brake is a drum brake.

Pelle said this about the SR 150 Race’s competitive prices: “As a company, we believe in doing things differently. This is clear from the wide range of services we offer in India and the fact that we have been able to keep many of our valued customers. In order to do this, we priced the SR 150 Race in a way that makes it appealing to young people who are looking for quality and uniqueness in all of their adventures. We hope that the SR 150 Race is as popular as the SR 150, and we’re looking forward to making Aprilia’s crossover sport-scooter offer in the country even stronger.

Due to its unique value, the Aprilia SR 150 doesn’t really have a direct competitor in the 150 cc scooter market. Because of how sporty the scooter is and how well it rides and how cheap it is, it is also appealing to people who want to buy motorcycles. Not to mention the name Aprilia.
