BMW has released the third version of its X3 SUV. The starting price for a BMW X3 is Rs 49.99 lakh (ex-showroom). At the moment, the new X3 only comes with a diesel engine, but a gasoline engine will be added in the future. You can choose between the xDrive 20d Expedition and the xDrive Luxury Line.

Looks and Dimension

The X3 has been changed a lot to make it look more expensive. At the front, the kidney grille is now bigger, and the new headlights go well with it. The front bumper is strong and has straight foglights instead of the old model’s round ones. At the back, the new X3 has a new bumper, larger LED taillights, a sloping roofline, and a larger spoiler.

The new BMW X3 is also bigger and has more space for people sitting in the front and back. 55mm is added to the wheelbase. The standard rim size has gone from 17 inches to 18 inches. The wheels can also be made bigger, up to 21 inches.

Engine

New BMW X3 Launched At Rs 49.99 Lakh-2

For now, the X3 only comes with one 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine. This is the same four-cylinder engine that can be found under the 3-series and 5-series. In terms of numbers, this 20d engine gives the BMW X3 190 PS of power and 400 Nm of peak torque. A steptronic automatic gearbox with 8 speeds is connected to this engine. The car can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8 seconds with this setup. (BMW changed its gasoline engine to meet BSVI standards.)

Interiors

The old X3’s cabin was a key part that felt out of date compared to its rivals. Not anymore, because the interior of the new X3 has been completely redone. The seats and dashboard are new. Also, the infotainment system is now bigger and can be controlled by hand gestures. Along with ambient lighting, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come as standard features. Some other new features include a rear camera with park assist, a place to hold a smartphone on the centre console, a wireless charger for a phone, and a BMW Display key.

Safety

The new X3 comes with a lot of safety features. Standard safety features include six airbags, Dynamic Stability Control, attentiveness assistance, cornering brakes, side impact protection, a crash sensor, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and an electric parking brake with an auto hold function.
