In India, it makes more sense to own a Sports Car than a Supercar. This is true for many reasons, such as:

High import taxes make it very expensive to buy a supercar.

Lack of good roads that aren’t always crowded

Modern sports cars are fast enough.

We talked more about the difficulties that come with owning a supercar in India. So, what do we think a sports car is? People often use the terms “sports car” and “supercar” interchangeably, depending on what they think looks cooler. We kept this list of sports cars simple by only including cars that are fun to drive and cost less than 1 crore in India. Look at them below:

Skoda Octavia vRS

Skoda Octavia vRS

Price: Rs 30 Lakhs out of the store

Want the best value for your money? Since it came out in India in 2017, the Skoda Octavia vRS has been the favourite of people who like to drive. There were only a certain number of units available. Skoda has said, though, that the next batch of cars will be out in 2020.

This car comes with a 2.0-liter engine that makes 245 PS of power between 5,500 and 6200 rpm when it’s stock. Torque is also pretty good, with 350 Nm between 1500 and 4500 rpm. The numbers look very good. But what’s great is that you can easily flash tune this engine to make it make more than 300 PS of power. All it needs is an ECU Flash, an intercooler, an intake, and an exhaust that lets air flow freely.

The engine makes 230hp between 5,500 and 6,200 rpm and 350Nm of torque between 1,500 and 4,500 rpm. This power is sent to the front wheels through a six-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox and an XDS limited-slip differential.

You might think that a car with so much power going to the front wheels would be hard to drive and steer. Skoda has thought about it, though, and added a limited slip differential. This makes going around corners safer and faster.

Mini Cooper S

Ex-showroom price: Rs. 29.9 lakhs

Since it came out in 1959, the Mini Cooper has become such a well-known car that it has become its own brand. Mini has won many races over the years, including the Monte Carlo Rally in 1964, 1965, and 1967. People around the world think that the new Mini Cooper is one of the best hot hatches.

The Mini Cooper S is a really fun car to drive and can keep up with supercars on a narrow, winding road. Even though the new Mini is a lot bigger than the first Mini, it’s still pretty small. This makes getting around the city easy. It is easy to drive because it has a short wheelbase and the steering feels good.

The Mini Cooper S is powered by a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder gasoline engine that puts out 192 PS between 5,000 and 6,000 rpm. The torque number is a solid 280 Nm. This is enough for it to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 230 km/h.

Ford Mustang

Ford Mustang

Ex-showroom price: Rs. 74.62 Lakhs

Ford Mustang is a symbol of America. When the first Mustand came out 50 years ago, it quickly became the car that everyone wanted. Even in this day and age, the Ford Mustang is a really cool car. And the name gives it even more Pzaz.

In India, the Ford Mustang comes with a 5.0-liter V8 engine that makes 401 PS of power at 6,500 rpm and 515 Nm of torque. The power goes to the back wheels through an automatic gearbox with six speeds.

If you live in India and want a real American muscle car, you can only get a Mustang. The Mustang is one of a kind when it comes to how it feels to drive. No other car in its price range or above it can match it. So it’s no surprise that many people who own supercars also like Mustang. It is better for the roads in India and gets the same amount of attention.

Mercedes-Benz C 43 AMG

Price: Rs 75 Lakhs out of the store

Something about a sports sedan is very appealing. But the coupe design of the Mercedes C43 AMG makes it look more exciting. On the other hand, the C63 AMG might look like a regular C-class with a body kit to other drivers. Unless you just put your foot on the gas and drove off, leaving them to wonder what happened.

The price difference between the C63 AMG and the C43 AMG is about Rs 70 lakhs. Let’s say you can buy two C43 AMGs for the price of one C63 AMG.

Mercedes-Benz C43 AMG is no slouch either. It has a 3.0-liter V6 engine with two turbochargers that puts out 390 PS of power and 520 Nm of torque. From 0 to 100 km/h takes only 4.7 seconds. Even a seasoned driver would be happy with this kind of performance. Just 20 years ago, only the best supercars of the time could reach these kinds of performance numbers. It might be faster than a Ferrari 360 Modena, for example.

Mercedes AMG SLC 43

Mercedes AMG SLC 43

Ex-showroom price: Rs. 77.5 lakhs

A few years ago, the best roadster was the Mercedes SLK 55 AMG. Now, in 2016, this AMG SLC 43 took its place. This also meant that the loud V8 engine was swapped out for a 3.0-liter V6 with two turbochargers. But that doesn’t mean it’s slower. The Mercedes AMG SLC 43 has 367 hp, which is 53 hp less than the SLK 55 AMG. It also has 520 Nm of torque (20 Nm less than SLK).

Even though it has less power, the SLC 43 AMG is just as fast as its predecessor. This is because it has faster gear changes and a better chassis. It only takes 4.7 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km/h.

BMW Z4 M40i

Price: Rs. 80,500,000 out of the showroom

When you think of a roadster, Z4 is the first thing that comes to mind. Roadsters are great for anyone in India who likes to drive. They aren’t too fast for Indian roads like supercars are, but they have almost the same presence on the road. And they work well with speed breaks. The BMW Z4 just got an update, and now it has more features than ever before. The BMW M2 and the Toyota Supra also use the same engine.

This 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine makes 340 Ps of power between 5000 and 6000 rpm and 500 Nm of torque between 1600 and 4500 rpm. If you look at these numbers, you might think that torque is always on tap, no matter how fast or slow the engine is going. This makes it a fast car that is easy to drive. From 0 to 100 km/h takes only 4.5 seconds.

BMW M2 Competition

BMW M2 Competition

Ex-showroom price: Rs. 83.4 lakhs

Want to drive the most fun BMW? Just look at the M2 Competition. BMW doesn’t say this, but most reviewers from reputable publications say it is true. The old M2 was a fun car to drive and had a nice exhaust sound.

The engine for the M2 Competiton, on the other hand, comes from the M3 and M4. For M2 Competition, this engine has been slightly changed. It has a power output of 410 PS and a torque output of 510 Nm. The speed goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds. The best thing about this car, though, is how quick it is.

If you want your everyday car to scare supercars on the weekends, M2 Competition is a great choice. This sports car is pretty useful for driving in India. Just don’t plan to sit in the back seats, which are made for kids and shouldn’t be used by adults.

BMW 330i

Ex-showroom price: Rs. 48.5 lakhs

The 3-Series BMW has always been a car that a man with a family would drive. It is the best platform if you want to be both useful and comfortable. But that doesn’t mean you have to give up fun. The new BMW 330i G20 is the latest car from BMW, and it has all the latest high-tech features.

It has a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 258 Ps of power and 400 Nm of torque. It only takes 5.8 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km/h. Its predecessor had a smooth six-cylinder engine that ran in a straight line, but you won’t miss it much.

Audi S5

Audi S5

Ex-showroom Price: Rs. 72.41 Lakh

Have the same amount of money as a BMW M2, but want something more useful? Your wish is granted by the Audi S5 Sportback. In real life, this is just as fast as a BMW M2, if not faster, and it’s also more comfortable.

It has a V6 engine that is 3.0 litres and is turbocharged. This setup makes 356 Ps of power and 500 Nm of torque. From 0 to 100 kph takes only 4.7 seconds.

If you put this and the M2 Competition next to each other, most people will agree that the S5 Sportback looks better and costs more. M2 Comp is a good choice if you like to drive fast and drift around long corners. But the S5 Sportback is as comfortable and easy to use as a regular Audi A4, but it drives like a sports car. It is also safer to drive because it has Quattro all-wheel drive.

Porsche 718

Ex-showroom price: Rs 85.95 Lakhs

Cayman and Boxster are the two body styles for the Porsche 718. (Convertible). Both the Cayman and the Boxster almost drive the same. The only question is whether you like driving with the top down or the shape of the Cayman.

This is a real sports car with two seats. It’s easy to drive and quick enough to keep even experienced drivers interested. The best thing about the Porsche 718 is its chassis and the way it drives. Some people say that it would be faster than its big brother Porsche 911 if it had more power.

It has a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine that puts out 300 PS and 380 Nm of torque. From 0 to 100 km/h takes only 4.9 seconds.

The only thing that Porsche fans don’t like about it is that it doesn’t have a six-cylinder engine like its predecessor. The old Porsche Cayman was a joy to listen to, especially at higher rpms. But if you haven’t driven the one before, you won’t mind the sound of the new one’s exhaust.
