On July 4, 2018, the Volvo XC40 SUV will go on sale in India. The XC40, on the other hand, can already be reserved by putting down Rs 5 lakhs. The Volvo XC40 is the first SUV that the Swedish company makes. With models like the XC90 and XC60, which are built on next-generation design, the XC line has been a success in India. The XC40 uses the same approach, but it is smaller and will cost about Rs 38 lakhs. Based on how people have responded so far, Volvo is sure that it will sell more than 200 cars before the official launch on July 4.

Looks

The XC40 Volvo sits below the recently released XC60. Several parts of the way these SUVs look and work are the same between them. Still, the XC40’s platform is very different from that of its older XC siblings. The Volvo XC40 is built on a platform called Compact Modular Architecture, which is also used by Volvo’s parent company, Geely. The Volvo XC60 was put on the market for Rs 55.90 lakh.

Features

Volvo XC40 Launch Date Announced Booking Open-2

Even though the XC40 is built on a different platform, it will have the same kinds of features as the XC60 and XC90. This includes standard features like a 9-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Harman Kardon audio system, hill start assist, and a Panoramic Sunroof. Just like every other XC model, this one can fit 5 people.

Engine & Gearbox

The XC40 is powered by a turbocharged 2-liter, 4-cylinder engine that puts out 190 PS and 400 Nm of torque. All four wheels get power from the engine through an automatic gearbox with eight speeds. The Haldex AWD system is also standard, and it makes it easier to drive off-road.

Competition

In India, entry-level luxury SUVs like the Audi Q3, Mercedes-Benz GLA, BMW X1, and Land Rover Discovery Sport are very popular. The Volvo XC40 should be a good rival, since it just won the European Car of the Year award.
