There are people who have recently bought a Jeep Wrangler JL, and we know how much fun it can be to have one! It can be difficult to remove the soft or hardtop now, but we want to make it easier with the simple steps in this post. How about we start right away?

Jeep Wrangler Hard Top Removal

Hardtop Removal

Work on this will be done by two people instead of one. While nothing is impossible, we strongly suggest that you get someone else to help you remove the hardtop.

Remember that there isn’t just one long piece for the hardtop; there are three all-out pieces in all. We are lucky because both of our boards are easy to get off.

The rest of the roof is only a little big, but with that help, it’s even smaller.

There are a lot of different ways the hardtop on the Jeep Wrangler looks, so the driver can choose what kind of design they want.

To remove the hardtop, follow the steps below:

You need to remove eight locks from the Wrangler lodge to start the process.

It’s time for Step 2. There are two behind the vanity mirror that can be easily taken out, and the other six need to be turned inside toward the hotel to be taken out.

Step 3: All of them don’t need any real power to turn. Keep in mind that these hooks can be taken off one by one while you push up one or another board. We suggest that you put these parts in the storage compartment. Much like that, the forward part of the hardtop is done.

If you already own a Jeep Wrangler, you can find the toolbox that comes with it in Step 4. Find this tool stash in the glove box or in the back of your car.

Step 5: All the instruments you need are there. There are a few parts that make sure the hardtop’s back piece is removed in the right way.

It’s time for Step 6. You need to find the windshield cleaner line, water hose, spout, and connected electrical lines in the back of the truck, on the driver’s side, to use. It’s simple: Just hit the red switch and pull down on the electrical link housing to cut off the piece. Then, put everything into the next stage safely.

Windshield cleaner lines separate fairly well and find their way into the housing of the electric links that connect them. At the edges of the Jeep Wrangler JL, their area is made up of six tightens that keep the top spot.

It’s time for Step 8. With the help of the tool stash, remove all of them. Three on each side. Some unique grommets have been made for each screw so that it can be put in the back, near the back of the car. There’s more room for two screws that go on the edge of the Wrangler and the hardtop, so they can be put there. Locate the two screws that were left over on the front corner. Then, find the screws with the other six screws that you took out.

Step 9: The process is almost done. This is the part of the job that is really hard and needs help. Unless you’re good at hard work, we suggest getting a friend.

Step 10: The hardtop roof should be put away in a safe place like a car port. The hardtop top of the Wrangler is too big to fit in the storage compartment, so finding another place to store it is the safest option.

The best thing about the new Jeep Wrangler is how easy it is to remove the hard and soft tops.

Soft Top Removal

With the Sunrider soft top, there are four parts to remove carefully: the roof, each back side window, and the back windshield. As soon as the soft top roof is opened, the roof will slide back almost like a convertible. When you start, open the soft top lock. Then, take the side back windows off. A strong section is easy to take off, but it will stay in the back corner of the car. You must do these things in order to remove your jeep wrangler soft top:

Step 1: First, open the storage compartment and look for the plastic tabs that are built into the base folds of the back windshield covering. They will be hidden under the window ledge so that they snap out.

Step 2: Gently move the back windshield side fold and hold on tight. This is a simple slide of the whole back windshield off because it will easily slide off the left half of the car. After taking it out, put this piece in the trunk.

Step 3: Next, find the part of the back window near the storage area.

It’s time for Step 4. Choose which side you want to jump out of and effectively remove the velcro that goes along with the back window of the soft top.

It’s now time to look for the two dark hooks that are on top of the lodge. They’re in the middle.

Step 6: Just move the vanity mirror below. Each lock can be pulled down and opened.

This is the last step. When the two hooks are pulled, the soft top will want to come off. A person can lift the soft top off on their own. This part is easier when someone else is around. Then, as you raise the top, push up and in the opposite direction to think about how the soft top will fall back down into where the track goes.

You can now get a hook and pull the soft top down all the way. There, lock the top so it won’t move back or rise while you drive.

Step 9: The soft top locks are found where the delicate pair meets the edge of the Jeep. With a simple pull, make sure the lock is in the right place and that the delicate top doesn’t move forward. The most delicate top should move in the same way as a couple of creeps up.

It’s a good thing the Sunrider soft top is off, and the Jeep Wrangler is now topless. You can go for a nice drive with the sun’s warmth and a cool breeze running through your car.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of a jeep wrangler hardtop

Advantages

Sturdy

There is no doubt that the Jeep Wrangler top is the most durable. Because hard tops are stronger and more stable than soft tops, they will usually last longer than soft tops. They are more durable than their soft-top counterparts, which means they will last longer.

Protective

Hardtop Jeep Wranglers can also give you more protection from the cold winter wind or the hot summer sun. This also makes for a more peaceful ride than a Jeep Wrangler with a soft top, which is usually a lot more noisy and rough. This means that when it rains or it is very hot outside, there is no chance that you will be drenched. Hardtop Jeep Wranglers protect you from bad weather because the weather can change at any time.

Secure

As an example, with a hardtop, you can also add a rooftop rack to carry your open-air, going romping gear. Hardtops give you more confidence and security for your own things than soft tops. Your car is well protected from anyone who tries to get in. This, then, keeps your things safe.

Reduced Noise

As we all aren’t friendly, we make a lot of noise. When you’re driving, this is even worse. Having a hardtop wrangler helps to cut down on the noise that can keep you from having a peaceful ride.

It’s important to think about why you have a Jeep Wrangler before you think about hardtops and soft tops. Is your Jeep Wrangler for everyday driving or just going to special places?

To go about your daily business, maybe it’s better to have a hardtop than a soft top. This is because a hardtop provides more security, assurance, and peace and quiet.

Disadvantages of a jeep wrangler hardtop

Difficult to remove

These cars have some problems, but they’re not all bad! If you want to remove the hardtop, you’ll need someone else to help you. It’s easier to remove the hardtop than to put it on, which will most likely take more time. It’s likely that you won’t want to take it off because it’s hard to get off. The weather should be a big factor in whether or not you take your hardtop off or not.

Storage

In general, hardtops tend to last longer than soft tops, but if you need another hardtop, it will be more expensive to put on than with soft tops.

Because hardtops don’t fold down like soft tops, you’ll need to find a place to store them when your Jeep isn’t topped.

So, taking up a lot of space can seem like a bad thing to some people. You should, however, keep your hardtop in a well-spaced place after you remove it to keep it safe.
